Evan (Ev) Williams is a serially successful entrepreneur in the publishing industry. He coined the term “blogger” and successfully founded 3 digital publishing (blog based) businesses.
His first business was called Blogger, which was acquired by Google.
Blogger is a blog-publishing service that allows multi-user blogs with time-stamped entries.
His next venture, Twitter, reached a USD14.bn billion dollar valuation when it listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2013 (NYSE:TWTR).
Twitter is a ‘microblogging’ system that allows you to send and receive short posts called tweets. Tweets can be up to 140 characters long and can include links to relevant websites and resources. Twitter users follow other users. If you follow someone you can see their tweets in your twitter ‘timeline’.
